Asanas and transitions
The ACRONYC describes 40 asanas and 185 transitions.
The Asanas each contain a description of an entrance into the figure. As well as Transitions, from the respective asana to another figure.
In general, there are three different movement principles for all transitions:
Steps, Whips and Icarians.
Asanas
In the Acronyc, all positions of the flyer in which they face the head of the base are coherently defined as "normal" positions.
In traditional systems, F2H, Low F2H and Shoulderstand are often defined the other way round.

Steps
Steps are the easiest and most controlled way to move from one figure to another. The base always offers new contact points for the flyer with arms or legs, which the flyer utilises by shifting their weight in a controlled manner.
Whips
In acroyoga, whips are swinging or whipping movements. Gravity is often utilised and the flyer usually moves into the next figure via rolling contact points and pivots.
Icarians / Pops
With Icarians / Pops, the flyer is thrown into the air from the base. The flyer actually has flight time, i.e. "airtime". With Icarians, there is no longer a point of contact between the flyer and the base. With pops, there is still at least one point of contact between base and flyer. In general, Icarians are possible from almost all to almost all figures.
Washing Machines
Washing machines are sequences of movements in which the start and end positions are identical. The flyer rotates at least once through 360° in at least one of its three body axes.
These are the Salto wheel and pirouette axes.
Washing machines are therefore complex sequences of movements and combinations consisting of steps, whips or Icarians & pops. Rolling, gliding and jumping contact points or combinations of these come into play.
In addition, all transitions and washing machines that do not utilise gravity can also be flown backwards.
